Frosting – two recipes
Do you like making gingerbreads?
Awesome! Today we’ll show you how to make a fresh and sweet frosting, perfect for gingerbread decorations – and you can make it in two different ways, depending on your time and patience ;)
- Semi-sheer frosting
Ingredients :
- fresh lemon juice
- powdered sugar
Slowly mix the lemon juice with powdered sugad one cup at a time, and mix it until creamy. When you are happy with the consistency of the frosting, it is ready to use. You can use a small brush to decorate your gingerbreads with it.
- Thick frosting [ classic one]
Ingredients:
- 1 egg white
- Powdered sugar [ ½ a cup for 1 egg]
- Fresh lemon juice
Mix the egg white with powdered sugar with fast and energetic moves. You can ad some lemon juice to break the sweetness a little, but be very careful with it. Mix it all until creamy.
When the frosting is ready, you can put it into your piping bag with the smallest tip. If you don’t have piping bag, you can use any plastic bag as well. We recommend using bags with zipper to prevent the spilling of the icing. It is especially useful when you let your kids decorate the cookies ;) Just cut one corner of the bag – remember to make the hole really tiny –
and have fun!
